    The last few days, 14 to be exact.
    Days of farewell, of anticipation, of suspense.
    August in Berlin, everyone is on holiday and we are preparing.
    The passports are complete and we also have two international driving licences.
    Next week Indian Embassy.
    Hammocks will be tested on the balcony.

    This week is the last working week of Leander. Finish the project, say goodbye to colleagues. Everyone throughout welcomes his decision, that’s nice and inspires us.

    Packing and emptying the apartment are done in parallel.
    We keep one room, the smallest one, and store our things there.

    One room is used for the travel things.
    Everything we take with us comes in there.
    At the beginning of next week we plan to pack a sample to see if it is realistic to move.
    So far as luggage are planned
    – Leander and Nadine each a backpack
    – Lysander and Velis one backpack each
    – a big shoulder bag
    – 3 round transport bags
    – a medium-sized hard-shell case
    – plus each of us a daypack.

    furthermore
    1 buggy
    1 scooter
    1 carry bag for the bags

    We will report about the distribution later 😅

    Die letzten Tage, 14 um genau zu sein.

    Tage des Abschieds, der Vorfreude,  der Spannung.
    August in Berlin, alle sind im Urlaub und wir bereiten uns vor.

    Die Reisepässe sind vollzählig und zwei internationale Führerscheine haben wir auch.
    Nächste Woche Indische Botschaft.
    Hängematten werden auf dem Balkon getestet.

    Diese Woche ist die letzte Arbeitswoche von Leander. Projekt abschließen, Kollegen verabschieden. Durchweg alle begrüßen seine Entscheidung, das ist schön und spornt uns an.

    Das Packen und das Ausräumen der Wohnung laufen parallel.
    Ein Zimmer, das Kleinste behalten wir und bringen da unsere Sachen unter.

    Ein Zimmer dient den Reisesachen.
    Da kommt alles rein was wir mitnehmen.
    Geplant ist Anfang nächster Woche einmal Probe zu packen um zu sehen ob das realistisch ist zu bewegen.
    Bisher als Gepäck sind geplant
    – Leander und Nadine jeweils ein Rucksack
    – Lysander und Velis jeweils ein Rucksack
    – eine große Umhängetasche
    – 3 runde Transportsäcke
    – ein mittelgroßer Hartschalenkoffer
    – plus jeder von uns einen Tagesrucksack

    With four kids around the world Mit vier Kindern um die Welt

    We, Nadine and Leander, want to discover the world with our four children (11, 8, 4 and 3 years) for one year.

    Traveling through Africa, India, Southeast Asia, Australia, North America and South America, that is the plan at the moment. We travel easily and flexibly: without return flight ticket, with little luggage. But with everything that is important to us. Especially with a lot of time. Time for the essentials. We let ourselves be inspired.

    What do we want?

    • Making new experiences and changing our perspective
    • Growing together with the children and mastering challenges
    • Experience different cultures, different countries, be more outdoors and in the nature.
    • Try out new ways, test how one can work, learn, live
    • Meet old friends and make new friends
    • Experience the freedom to make new decisions every day and to go our own way.

    It is not easy for us to leave our family, friends and the many important people around us behind for a year.

    If we can stay in touch with old and new friends through this blog, it would be wonderful!

    And of course we are happy about ideas, suggestions and everything you want to give us!

    Wir, Nadine und Leander, wollen mit unseren vier Kindern (11, 8, 4 und 3 Jahre) ein Jahr die Welt entdecken.

    Über Afrika, Indien, Südostasien, Australien und Südamerika, so ist der Plan derzeit. Wir reisen leicht und flexibel:  ohne Rückflugticket, mit wenig Gepäck. Aber mit allem was uns wichtig ist. Vor allem mit viel Zeit. Zeit für das Wesentliche. Wir lassen uns inspirieren.

    Was wollen wir?

    • Neue Erfahrungen machen und unsere Perspektive verändern
    • Gemeinsam mit den Kindern wachsen und Herausforderungen meistern
    • Verschiedene Kulturen, andere Länder erleben, mehr draußen und in der Natur sein
    • Neue Wege ausprobieren, testen wie man noch arbeiten, lernen, leben kann
    • Alte Freunde treffen und neue Freunde kennenlernen
    • Die Freiheit erleben, jeden Tag neu entscheiden zu können und unseren eigenen Weg zu gehen

    Es fällt uns nicht leicht, für ein Jahr unsere Familie, Freunde und die vielen wichtigen  Menschen um uns zurückzulassen.

    Wenn wir über diesen Blog in mit alten und neuen Freunden in Kontakt bleiben können wäre das wunderbar!

    Und natürlich freuen wir uns über Ideen, Anregungen und alles, was Ihr uns mitgeben wollt!
